Staithes Surgery signs MND Charter

Staithes Surgery has signed the Motor Neurone Disease Association's Charter in recognition of the rights and priorities of good care for people living with motor neurone disease (MND) and their carers.

The five-point Charter sets out what good care looks like for people with MND and their carers and is designed to raise awareness and understanding of this devastating disease amongst professionals and the public.

GPs play an important role in the diagnosis of MND and can be involved in supporting ongoing care so that people with MND can maximise their quality of life and achieve a good death.  That's why we are delighted to sign up to the MND Charter as we beleive everyone with this devastating disease should be well supported to maximise thier quality of life and die with dignity.
